“ JAZZ MUSIC IS SIMILAR TO INDIAN CLASSICAL MUSIC IMPROVISING AND KEEP FLOWING ‘ –“
Mumbai 12th March, 2015:- TEAM OF 5th Veda at Whistling Woods International (WWI) Initiated by Subhash ghai continues to raise the bar this week too with an exceptional and educational Jazz evening organized for the students. The program began with an entertaining and educating AV on Jazz Music , its origin , its culture and its influence on Indian cinema. Students listening who had never shown any interest in Jazz music did change his mind after witnessing a splendid Jazz performance by Karim Ellaboudi, a child prodigy on piano who’s also a skilled improvisational soloist, Benny Sones on drums and D Wood who’s also a Music teacher at WWI on guitar students were so much thrilled that they started participated and joined the band singing .
While interacting with students Karim revealed “Jazz can’t be described. Its about improvisation according to a theme. Its a forum which very uniquely is also an analogy for life.” He compared the similarities of Jazz music with indian classical music which allows a performer to improvise and go into ecstacy as much as he likes .
Undoubtedly The surprise element of the evening was a spontaneous Jazz performance by a group of Whistling Woods students which forced everyone in the audience to join in the melody praising their school ‘whisstlingwoods ‘ and its teachers . 300 students joined them clapping and resounding the hall with jazz band .
